Description:
From time to time, you might want to cancel a number that your no longer using either because its no longer needed, or you wish to stop it from billing you. This process will walk you through perminantly removing the number from your account so it no longer works and takes it off your bill.
1) Navigate to https://my.ringplan.com/pbx/
numbers/list 2) Check the "selection box" next to the number(s) you wish to delete
3) click the "Cancel Numbers" box that appears after you have completed making your selection
4) the numbers will be canceled by being put into a canceled state for 30 days. During the canceled state, the number will be de-routed but not actually canceled. This is to allow time for the customer to realize if they accidently canceled a number by mistake.
Then at the end of the 30 day period, it goes to a carrier canceled state for an additional 30 days. During this timeframe, we will actually place a disconnect order with the ULC. As of the writing of this guide, the ULC policy is currently to hold canceled numbers for 30 days before actually removing them from inventory or reassigning them to another customer.
At the end of the "carrier canceled" 30 day period, the number is then irretrievably canceled and removed from the ULC inventory. During the 1st cancel cooldown or the 2nd carrier canceled cooldown, it still MAY be possible to restore the number by paying a restoration fee. After the 2nd 30 day cooldown has expeired (60 days) the number likely can not be recovered.
